The president of Ghana, Nana Addo with sadness has announced the death of his excellency Jerry John Rawlings. Starting from Friday 13th to 20th November, to honor the falling soldier, the president has directed all the national flags to fly at half-mast for the next seven days and have also declared a seven days of national mourning to the ex president.
The tragic demise of the late president which occurred at 10:10am on Thursday, 12th November 2020, at the Korle-bu Teaching hospital where the former president was receiving treatment, after a short illness has taken the country into a state of great sadness.
Nana-Addo, representing all Ghanaians has convey a deep sympathies of the people of Ghana and the government to the wife, his children and the family of the late former president in a statement.
Together with the vice president and the NPP have also suspend their political campaign for the same period of seven days.
